about us
the origin story
Equanimous Operations, or EquaOps, was founded by Luke Witchger in 2023 to provide financial management support to emerging nonprofits and their leaders. Prior to starting EquaOps, Luke supported multiple independent nonprofits and fiscally-sponsored charitable organizations in various capacities – everything from payroll and benefits management through assessing financial and compliance risk, and everywhere in between. Through each of these experiences, Luke continued to notice the gap between effective operations and financial management and the overall success of the non-profit. Luke’s belief that equanimity would bring balance and flow to nonprofits that would help them to thrive is where EquaOps was born.
As a former professional violinist, Luke’s attention to detail and dedication to his work are unparalleled. He is able to get in the weeds with each unique client to meet you where you are in your financial and operations journey.
In EquaOps’ short history thus far, Luke has expanded the organization to include additional consultants that strive for the same care and attention in their work. While Luke still leads the team, EquaOps’ whole team supports the organization’s efforts to provide tailored and timely services.
“Equanimity is characterized by the ability to remain calm, composed, open, and non-reactive in the face of challenging or distressing situations. Equanimity is not just a psychological trait with which we are born, but also a state of mind that we can actively cultivate. We can seek to enhance our inner sense of peace, our reactivity to external stimuli, and our non-attachment to specific outcomes. And it is well worth our effort, for when we are in a state of equanimity, we can respond to life’s ups and downs with more clarity and wisdom.”
